5th Grade Summer Reading List
Summer Reading for Fifth Grade
Every student is required to read a minimum of two books over the summer.
Attached is a list of recommended reading for fifth grade.
Pick one of the books read over the summer for your cereal box project. We will do a fun activity when school starts with the second book you read over the summer.
Cereal Box Summary Project
Due Friday August 19th
Directions for project:
Cover a cereal box with paper and decorate according to the book you chose. On the front make up a cereal name that is relevant to your book. On the back provide a summary of your book including main characters, plot, setting, and conflict/resolution. Make sure you include information about the author of your book.
On the top, sides, and bottom create information that tell about the book you read. You may do advertisements or games about your story or information about the characters or author of the book. You may use a real cereal box as a guide to help you decide what to put on your project.
This project will count as one daily completion grade.
Summary of Book- Did you include the following in your project: main characters, plot, setting and conflict/resolution for your book?
Make sure to include information about the author of your book on your project.
Everyone will present their project to the class.
