Mr. Tim Miesner - Principal
Mr. Miesner received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Concordia University-Nebraska and his Master's Degree in Education from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Mr. Miesner is coming to Epiphany from Westlake Preparatory Lutheran Academy where he was the 6th and 7th grade teacher for the last 3 years. He also previously served as a school principal for 15 years in Fort Worth, Texas. He moved to Katy and worked as Executive Director of CrossPoint Community Church before teaching at Westlake Preparatory Lutheran Academy. He and his wife, Sue, have three grown children and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Linda Wimberley - Director of Admissions
Mrs. Wimberley began her ministry at Epiphany in 1997. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Tech University and completed the Colloquy Program from Concordia, University in Austin. Mrs. Wimberley had previously taught and been an Administrative Assistant at St. Mark Lutheran School in Houston, as well as serving as the school librarian. She is an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and has 3 grown children and 5 wonderful grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and reading.
Mrs. Mimi Pooley - Secretary
Mrs. Pooley has been working in the school office since August 2011 and has been an active member of Epiphany since 1993. She was born in Chicago, IL and moved to the Houston area in 1974. Mrs. Pooley is the proud mother of three sons. She enjoys exercising, gardening, and vacationing.
Ms. Jamie Lumaye - Kindergarten
Miss Lumaye teaches Kindergarten at Epiphany Lutheran
School. She is a 2008 graduate of Concordia University Texas, where she earned
a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, and obtained her Lutheran Teaching
Diploma. She is a member of the Lutheran
Education Association. In December 2013, she will be marrying Stephen
Hernandez and they will be setting up their home together in Houston. In her free time, Miss Lumaye enjoys traveling
home to Austin, where she is originally from and her family resides, and caring
for her cat, Sophie. Miss Lumaye loves country music, two-stepping, and enjoys
the company of her friends. She enjoys teaching and working in the Lutheran
school system and is reminded by the following quotes. As Martin Luther once
said, “I am afraid that the schools will prove the very gates of hell, unless
they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures and engraving them in
the heart of the youth.” “The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of
world that it leaves to its children.” stated Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
Mrs. Karla Heerssen - 1st Grade
Mrs. Heerssen just completed 21 years of teaching, 17 of which have been spent in Lutheran schools. She has taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades in the regular classroom, as well as music from preschool through 8th grade. Mrs. Heerssen received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Concordia Teachers College (aka Concordia University Nebraska) in 1977, and her Master of Education in Literacy (teaching language arts) from Concordia Texas in 2009. She is qualified as a Reading Specialist for the State of Texas. Mrs. Heerssen is happily married to Harvey, enjoying 6 grown children and 8 grandchildren. In her spare time she knits, cooks, gardens, and plays the organ for worship services.
Mrs. Amy Drosche - 2nd Grade
Mrs. Drosche is a native Texan. She joined the
Epiphany staff for the 2012-2013 school year. Mrs. Drosche completed her
Bachelor of Arts in Education at Concordia University in Austin and holds her
Texas teaching certificate for Early Childhood through 4th grade. She has also
completed her Masters of Education in Educational Administration - School
Leadership from Grand Canyon University. She is a member of the Lutheran
Education Association. She has experience teaching in Preschool,
Pre-Kindergarten, and First Grade. Mrs. Drosche and her husband, Dusty,
who is also a Lutheran Church worker, have two sons, Braeden and Jackson, and a
daughter, Stella. Her favorite subject in school when she was growing up
was reading and her favorite children’s book is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr.
Mrs. Melanie Leeland - 3rd Grade
Mrs. Leeland began working at Epiphany in July 2005. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas and has earned a Masters Degree from the University of California and is certified to teach Early Childhood - 6th grade and 8th grade -12th grade. Mrs. Leeland has worked in Lutheran schools for 12 years. She is married to Rev. David Leeland and has two grown children. Mrs. Leeland enjoys reading, playing with her grandchild, and going to the movies. Mrs. Leeland is a member of Lutheran Education Association and International Reading Association and has presented at each.
Ms. Ruth Brunig - 4th Grade
Ms. Brunig was born and raised in New Orleans. She went to Concordia University in Ann Arbor, MI for two years and graduated with a BS in Elementary Education from Concordia University in Seward, NE with a Lutheran Teacher's Diploma and is certified to teach Kindergarten to 8th grade. Ms. Brunig began teaching at Immanuel Lutheran School in Giddings, TX. She has since taught at Lutheran schools in Pasadena and Humble. Ms. Brunig has taught Kindergarten and grades 2-4 plus 5th grade math. She has been teaching 4th grade at Epiphany since the 2008-2009 school year. Ms. Brunig's favorite subject is math. She enjoys trying to add things to her family history and traveling, as well as rooting for the New Orleans Saints. Ms. Brunig is an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring and a member of Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics and Lutheran Education Association.
Mrs. Rosalie Chapman - 5th Grade
Mrs. Chapman has been teaching at Epiphany since August 2008. She received her Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of St. Thomas with a minor in English and currently holds a Texas Teaching Certificate. Mrs. Chapman is a native Houstonian. She has been married to her husband Keith for 25 years and has two sons, Daniel and Derek. Mrs. Chapman also serves on the Board of Evangelism at Epiphany Lutheran Church where she has been a member for the last 17 years. She enjoys scrapbooking, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and is a member of Lutheran Education Association.
Mrs. Adria Himmler - 6th Grade
Mrs. Himmler started at Epiphany in August 2012. She was
born in Wichita, KS and spent time there and St. Louis, MO growing up.
She graduated from Concordia University Nebraska in 2007 with a Bachelor of
Science in Education and a Minor in Theology.
She has her DCE Certification as well as her Lutheran Teacher’s
Diploma. She was a DCE intern at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Green Bay,
WI, substitute taught at various Lutheran schools in the Kansas City area, and
worked in the Early Childhood Center as a Lead Teacher at Trinity Lutheran in
Houston. Her desire and love for children makes teaching and working
alongside parents, teachers, and students a complete joy. She loves to
read, watch movies, go to sporting events, play games, and spend time with friends
and family. Mrs. Himmler is a member of Texas
Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Mr. Jonathan Himmler - 7th Grade
Mr. Himmler has been teaching at Epiphany since the 2010-2011 school year. He was raised in the Houston area and graduated from Concordia University Nebraska in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and his Lutheran Teaching Diploma. Previously, Mr. Himmler taught 4th grade at Pilgrim Lutheran School in Green Bay, WI, and middle school math and science at Hope Lutheran in Shawnee, KS. Mr. Himmler also coaches volleyball and basketball during the school year. He enjoys golfing, working with wood, and playing games in his spare time and is a member of Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, Lutheran Education Association, and Science Teachers Association of Texas.
Mrs. Carolyn Wilke - 8th Grade
Mrs. Wilke has been serving Epiphany Lutheran School since
the 2005-2006 school year. She earned her Associates Degree from
Concordia College in Austin, her Bachelor of Arts Degree form Concordia
Teachers College in River Forest, IL, and her Master of Education Degree at the
University of Houston. She is a member of the Lutheran Education Association.
Mrs. Wilke has taught for 40 plus years at a number of Lutheran school
in Texas, including Trinity Lutheran and St. Mark Lutheran here in Houston.
She has three sons who all work in Lutheran churches or schools and 5
grandchildren. Mrs. Wilke enjoys gardening, reading, and canning.
Mr. Paul Wilke - PE Coach/Athletic Director
Mr. Wilke has been working at Epiphany Church and School since 2002. He was raised in the Houston area and graduated from Concordia Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education - Life Science. Mr. Wilke has taught classes at every age level from Kindergarten to Seniors in high school. He also coaches soccer and basketball during the school year. Mr. Wilke enjoys rooting on the Houston home teams and working out. Currently, Mr. Wilke is a member of Lutheran Education Association, Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, and American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreations and Dance.
Mr. JD Struckmann - School Music
Mr. Struckmann joined our staff for the 2011-2012 school year. He is a graduate of Valparaiso University. With an extensive background in music, he teaches choir, band and general music. He also provides private lessons for our students. His hobbies include playing in a small jazz band and cultivating our 95 Christmas trees on the property.
Ms. Wendy Harris
Ms. Harris has been with Epiphany Lutheran School for seven years as a school aide. Before joining our staff, she did office work for several different companies. She has an Associate's Degree in Business. Ms. Harris was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She is blessed to have 2 sons, Justin - 23 and Tyler - 16. She enjoys reading, watching movies, crafts, and road trips. Ms. Harris's favorite Bible verse is "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Phil 4:13.
